Special Interest Groups are a wonderful way to find people who want to have fun

doing what YOU like to do!

Like to Read?

Enjoy a variety of novels and non-fiction books.

Join the Book Club for lively discussions and light refreshments. The club meets monthly in members' homes. The November meeting traditionally includes a visit to the Marcus Jewish Community Center's Book Festival and the annual dinner & book exchange takes place in December.

Bored with eating the same breakfast every day?

Join us monthly for breakfast out at local dining spots.

The Breakfast Bunch meets monthly at 9:30 a.m. at a local breakfast spot. Consult the newsletter for updates on dates, times, and venues. Individual checks are provided. All you have to do is RSVP so we can make a reservation.

Canasta

Learn to play Canasta, a fun game making a comeback.

Canasta is a Spanish word meaning basket.  Starting in Uruguay, it became popular in the US in the 1950's and it's back. It is played with two decks of cards with four people playing in pairs. Learn with us and make a group. Lessons are usually held in January; check your newsletter for more details.

Tears or laughter, foreign or domestic films

Chick Flick group

The Chick Flick group will see movies you would love to watch with others. You will receive an email when interesting films are shown in local theaters and notified about when and where the group will meet. Hope to see you at the movies!

Learn how to make floral arrangements

Learn how to create your own Floral Designs and other projects from a professional. Tools required are a pruner and scissors. Class limited to 8 - 10 members at each session.

"Casting call" to all those interested in theater

Play Reading Group

No acting, dancing, singing, experience or talent needed....just a desire to have some laughs and enjoy the company of others with the same interest. Play Reading Group members will read comedies, mysteries or other light theatrical material aloud. Members will be assigned parts in the plays. Have a fun evening with friends and fellow thespians.

Rummy Q Group

Play for fun and laughs

Rummy Q is a tile based game for two to four players that combines the elements of rummy and mahjong. We plan for fun and for laughs, so join us for a monthly game and get to know some club members in a relaxed setting.

A little of "This & That"

A variety of interesting outings

Day trips to landmarks, museums, shows, plays, etc. Discover our city and surrounding areas with your DNC friends.

Looking to find treasures?

Treasure Hunters

Looking for antiques for that corner in your house you just can't find anything for? Or maybe you just want to hang out with your friends and look. Watch our newsletter for "special destinations" and optional lunch at a local restaurant.

Groups reflect the interest of the club members and can change from year to year. You must be a member of DNC to attend a Special Interest Group. New Special Interest Groups can begin at any time.
