Special Interest Groups are a wonderful way to find people who want to have fun

doing what YOU like to do!

Join the Book Club for lively discussions and light refreshments. The club meets monthly in members' homes. The November meeting traditionally includes a visit to the Marcus Jewish Community Center's Book Festival and the annual dinner & book exchange takes place in December.

Join us monthly for breakfast out at local dining spots.

The Breakfast Bunch meets monthly at 9:30 a.m. at a local breakfast spot. Consult the newsletter for updates on dates, times, and venues. Individual checks are provided. All you have to do is RSVP so we can make a reservation.

Tears or laughter, foreign or domestic films

Chick Flick group

The Chick Flick group will see movies you would love to watch with others. You will receive an email when interesting films are shown in local theaters and notified about when and where the group will meet. Hope to see you at the movies!

Floral Design Group

Decorating with Plants

See how to design an area in your home or outside, on your balcony, or in your quiet area in your sunroom or wherever. Home trends point to using plants indoors and out for relaxation and as a comfort zone and making your living area more attractive.

"Casting call" to all those interested in theater"

Play Reading Group

No acting, dancing, singing, experience or talent needed....just a desire to have some laughs and enjoy the company of others with the same interest. Play Reading Group members will read comedies, mysteries or other light theatrical material aloud. Members will be assigned parts in the plays. Have a fun evening with friends and fellow thespians.

Looking to find treasures?

Treasure Hunters

Looking for antiques for that corner in your house you just can't find anything for? Or maybe you just want to hang out with your friends and look. Watch our newsletter for "special destinations" and optional lunch at a local restaurant.

Rummy Q Group

Play for fun and laughs

Rummy Q is a tile based game for two to four players that combines the elements of rummy and mahjong. We plan for fun and for laughs, so join us for a monthly game and get to know some club members in a relaxed setting.

Adventures with Food

Cooking, Eating, and Culinary History

“Adventures with Food” is a  SIG designed for anyone interested in exploring and enjoying the many aspects of food, cooking, recipes, culinary history, and eating. Members may vary greatly in their cooking skills. People who can barely make a peanut butter sandwich are as welcome as sophisticated chefs. Good cooking skills are not necessary, but a willingness to experiment, share, and have fun are mandatory.

Groups reflect the interest of the club members and can change from year to year. You must be a member of DNC to attend a Special Interest Group. New Special Interest Groups can begin at any time.
